Channel posting policy

This feature is only available to organization owners and administrators.

By default, anyone who belongs to a channel can also send messages to the channel. However, sometimes it's useful to have a channel (often a default channel) where only certain users can send messages.

  1. Click on the gear () icon in the upper right corner of the web or desktop app.

  2. Select Channel settings.

  3. Click All channels in the upper left.

  4. Select a channel.

  5. Select the General tab on the right.

  6. Under Channel permissions, configure Who can post to the channel.

  7. Click Save changes.

Note: This sends an automated notice from notification bot to the "channel events" topic in the modified channel.
